27/09/09 Phil's Birthday Rideout

Lynne & John, Malcolm & Ray & Dot met us at The Swallow. We collected George & Carole at Gisburn. Had a very pleasant run up to Kettlewell via Cracoe and had tea or coffee and tea cakes at Zarina's cafe there.

George led us up to Tan Hill over Buttertubs Pass as our Garmin went off ( again) and also our autocom!. Photo call before we went in for some lunch. There was small band playing under the most cramped conditions I have ever seen! I got our drinks for free as I collected a few glasses for the bar man! After our meals I sneaked out to the bike to get a Birthday Cake I had managed to keep hidden from Phil. We all sang Happy Birthday and he was suitably embarrassed but chuffed to bits. He thanks everyone for his cards and to all who came on the run.

We left tan Hill heading for Kaber and then down into Kirkby Stephen, Sedbergh and finally stopping at Devil''s Bridge for a brew before everyone said their goodbyes and headed for home. An excellent day out was had by all.

Donna’s Dream House Easter Egg Run 28th March 2010 On Sunday 28th March 2010 Phil & I, Andy & Malc joined Morecambe & District (MAD) Motor Cycle Club on their Easter egg Run to Donna’s Dream House in Blackpool, which is a holiday home for children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses and it is our club’s chosen charity for 2010 About 50 bikes of all different shapes, sizes and ages assembled at Morrison’s car park in Morecambe for the 9.30am start. The weather was fine & dry which made a pleasant change & with stops along the way at Devil’s Bridge in Kirkby Lonsdale, Bull Beck Lay By near Caton & the Green Frog Take Away on Preston Docks we finally arrived in Blackpool around 3pm. We were all offered tea or coffee and biscuits and the chance to have a look around this wonderful place, which made one quite emotional. Len Curtis, Chairman of Donna’s Dream House, was extremely pleased to receive over 150 Easter Eggs and £884.48 in donations from MAD MCC.
